# Add a single answer

Notebook Clipper adds one answer from a conversation with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek or Grok to a notebook in Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM). The answer can be its own source, or join the source you already have for that conversation, so a notebook keeps one source per conversation with the answers you picked.

## Add the answer

1. **Click Add to Gemini Notebook under the answer**
   The icon sits in the row of actions under the answer, next to Copy and Share. The Add to Notebook dialog opens.
2. **Select a notebook**
   Choose a notebook in the Add to Notebook dialog, or click New notebook to create one.
3. **Choose how to save it**
   The dialog asks how you would like to save this. Choose one: Save as a new source adds the answer as its own source, while Update the existing source adds the answer to the source you already have for this conversation. Then click Add to notebook.
